Act of Adoration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Devotion #3

1. The Word was made Flesh,
and dwelt amongst us.

Eternal Word, made man for love of us, humbly prostrate at
Thy feet, we adore Thee with our whole mind, and with the most profound veneration. To make amends for our ingratitude for so great a benefit, we unite in sincerity of heart with all those who love Thee, and offer Thee, our most humble and affectionate thanksgivings.

Deeply conscious of that excess of humility, goodness, and
sweetness, which we acknowledge in the Divine Heart,
we petition Thee for Thy grace to imitate these virtues,
so pleasing to Thee.

Our Father...
Hail Mary...
Glory be to the Father...

2. He was crucified also for us, suffered under Pontius Pilate
and was buried.

Jesus, our admirable Redeemer, humbly prostrate at Thy
feet, we adore Thee with our whole mind, and with the most profound veneration. To testify the grief which we feel for our past insensibility to all the outrages and sufferings which Thy most loving Heart made Thee endure for our salvation, on Thy bitter Passion and death, we unite in sincerity of heart with all those who love Thee, in order that we may thank Thee with our whole soul.

We admire the infinite patience and generosity of Thy Divine Heart, and petition Thee to replenish our hearts with that
spirit of Christian mortification which will make us embrace sufferings courageously and fix our great consolation
and all our glory in Thy cross.

Our Father...
Hail Mary...
Glory be to the Father...

3. Thou hast given them bread from heaven, which abounds with all delights.

O Jesus, burning with love for us, humbly prostrate at Thy
feet, we adore Thee with our whole mind, and with the most profound veneration.

In order to make atonement for the outrages which Thy Divine Heart daily receives in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, we unite in sincerity of heart with all those who love Thee, and render Thee the most affectionate thanksgiving.

We love, in Thy Divine Heart, that intensely burning love
which Thou entertainest for Thine Eternal Father, and humbly beseech Thee to inflame our hearts with an ardent love of Thee and of our neighbour.

Our Father...
Hail Mary...
Glory be to the Father...

Finally, O most amiable Jesus, we beseech Thee, by the
sweetness of Thy Most Sacred Heart, to convert the
sinners, to comfort the afflicted, to assist the agonizing, and to
afford relief to the holy souls suffering in purgatory.

Unite our hearts in the bonds of true peace and charity,
deliver us from an unforeseen death, and grant that we may die in holiness and tranquility of mind.

Amen.

V. Heart of Jesus, burning with love of us,
R. Inflame our hearts with love of Thee.

Let Us Pray. - Grant, we beseech Thee, Almighty God, that
we who glory in the Most Sacred Heart of Thy beloved
Son, and bear in mind the exceedingly great benefits of His
charity towards us, may delight in the good conferred on us,
and enjoy its effects, through the same Christ our Lord.

Amen.

O Divine Heart of Jesus, I adore Thee with all the powers
of my soul; I consecrate them to Thee for ever, with all my thoughts, words, and actions, and my whole self.

I desire to adore Thee, to love Thee, and to glorify Thee, in the same manner, as far as possible, as Thou doest adore love and glorify Thy Eternal Fahter.

Be Thou, I beseech Thee, the Restorer of my weakness, and the Protector of my life, my refuge, and my asylum at the hour of my death.

I conjure Thee, by the sighs and anguish in which Thou wert immersed for me during the whole course of Thy mortal life, to grant me a true contrition for my sins, a contempt of earthly things, an ardent desire of eternal glory, confidence in Thine infinite merits, and final perseverance in Thy grace.

O Heart of Jesus, all love, I offer Thee these humble
prayers for myself, and for all those who unite in spirit with me in adoring Thee. Vouchsafe, through Thine infinite goodness,
to receive and hear them; above all, for him who among us
shall first depart from this mortal life.

O amiable Heart of my Saviour, pour down upon him, in the
agony of death, Thine interior consolations; receive him into Thy sacred Wounds; purify him from every defilement in this furnace of love, that Thou mayest grant him admittance into Thy glory, where he may become intercessor, before Thy presence, for all those who remain in this exile.

O Most Holy Heart of my dearly beloved Jesus, I desire to
renew and to offer Thee these acts of adoration, and these prayers, every moment I breathe, to the end of my life, for myself, a miserable sinner, and for all who are associated with me to adore Thee.

I recommend to Thee, O my Jesus, the holy Catholic Church, Thy beloved spouse and our true mother; also, the souls who are undergoing Thy justice and all poor sinners, the afflicted, the agonising, and all mankind.

Do not permit Thy Blood, poured out for them, to become useless to them. Vouchsafe, finally, to apply it for the relief of the souls in purgatory, and for those in particular who, during life, were wont devoutly to adore Thee.

O most amiable Heart of Mary, the most pure of all hearts
of creatures, and the most replete with the love of the Heart of Jesus, at the same time most merciful towards us, poor  inners, obtain for us, from the Heart of our Redeemer, the graces we ask of thee.

Mother of mercy, one look from thee, one movement of
Thy Heart, burning with love for that of Jesus, thy divine Son, can fully console us. Grant us, therefore, this favour; and then this divine Heart of Jesus, through the filial love which it bore, and always will bear towards thee, shall not fail to hear and answer our request.

Ah, by this adorable mystery of the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
do Thou grant unto us and all poor sinners Thy holy grace.
Pour forth Thy holy gifts upon us
and upon all redeemed souls,
and in an especial manner upon the visible Head of the Church,
the supreme Roman Pontiff,
upon all Cardinals,
Bishops and Pastors of souls,
upon priests and all other ministers of Thy sanctuary.

Act of Adoration # 4

My Lord Jesus Christ,

true God and true Man,
I adore Thee with every fibre of my being!

I adore Thee at every instant of time.

I adore Thee in union with the Immaculate Heart
of our Blessed Mother, Mary,
in union with the pure Heart Of St. Joseph,
in union with all Thy Angels and Saints
in the Glory Of Heaven,
in union with Thy just on earth,
in union with the souls in purgatory.

With this tribute of adoration
I wish to adore Thee for all who do not adore Thee,

to acknowledge Thee to be my God,
for all who refuse to acknowledge Thee.

Amen.

Catholic prayer for Good Friday

Dear Lord,

On this solemn day of Good Friday, we come before you with heavy hearts, mindful of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sins. We offer our prayers and our thanksgiving for the love that you have shown us through the death of your Son.

Act of Adoration and Praise After Communion Devotion

O Lord Jesus, sweetest Guest,
mayest Thou have come happily to me,
Thy poor and humble servant.

Mayest Thou have entered in blessing
under this mean and lowly roof.

Blessed art Thou, O Lord, in the highest,
for that Thou hast come into my heart,
Thou Day-spring from on high.

O King of peace,
drive from my heart all vain and idle thoughts,
that my soul may imitate and love Thee only,
the Author of peace.

For what beside Thee, O Thou peace,
Thou calm and sweetness of my heart,
should my soul seek for or desire?

Amen.

Prayer for Holy Thursday

Dear Lord,

As we gather on this Holy Thursday to remember the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples, we are reminded of the depth of your love for us.

We give thanks for the gift of the Eucharist, through which we are united with Jesus and with one another in a sacred bond of love and communion.

We pray that as we receive the body and blood of Christ, we may be transformed by his love and his grace.

May the Eucharist be a source of strength and nourishment for our souls, and may it inspire us to live lives of service and sacrifice for others.

On this Holy Thursday, we also remember the example that Jesus set for us in washing the feet of his disciples.

Help us to imitate his humility and his selflessness, and to be willing to serve others in whatever way we can.

We pray for all those who are hungry or in need, that they may be fed and cared for.

We pray for all those who are suffering, that they may find comfort and healing in your loving embrace.

May this Holy Thursday be a time of deepening our faith and our commitment to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we strive to live lives of love and service to others.

We offer this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Act of Adoration #5

I adore Thee, Lord and creator,
hidden in the Blessed Sacrament.

I adore Thee for all the works of Thy hands,
that reveal to me so much wisdom,
goodness and mercy, O Lord.

Thou hast spread so much beauty over the earth,
and it tells me about Thy beauty, even though these beautiful things are but a faint reflection of Thine Incomprehensible Beauty.

And although Thy hast hidden Thyself
and concealed Thy Beauty,
my eye, enlightened by faith, reaches Thee,
and my soul recognizes its Creator,
its Highest Good;
and my heart is completely immersed in prayer of adoration.

Amen.

Creativity in Prayer

Lord, I long to be in Your presence throughout my day. I long to see You and to love You always.

Help me to pray to You, in the midst of my activity, so that I may always be in Your company. Jesus, I trust in You.

Often times, our days are filled with activity. Families are often occupied with one event or another. Chores and work can pile up and we may find, at the end of the day, that we have had little time to pray to God in solitude. But solitude and prayer can happen at times throughout our busy day. Though it's important to look for moments when we can be alone with God, giving Him our full attention, we should also look for opportunities to pray, interiorly, in the midst of our busy lives.

Do you find that your life is full of activity?

Do you find that you are often too busy to get away and pray?

Though this is not the ideal, it can be remedied by looking for opportunities within your busyness.

At a school event, while driving, while cooking or cleaning, we always have the opportunity to raise our minds and hearts to God in prayer.

Remind yourself, this day, that you can pray during most moments of the day.

Praying continually, this way, may provide the solitude you so desperately need.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Jesus, divine saviour, deign to cast a look of mercy upon your children, who assemble in the same spirit of faith, reparation, and love, and come to deplore their own infidelities, and those of all poor sinners, their brethren.

May we touch your divine heart by the unanimous and solemn promises we are about to make and obtain mercy for ourselves, for the world, and for all who are so unhappy as not to love you. We all promise that for the future:

For the forgetfulness and ingratitude of men, we will console you, O Lord.
For the way you are deserted in your holy tabernacle, we will console you, O Lord.
For the crimes of sinners, we will console you, O Lord.
For the hatred of the impious, we will console you, O Lord.
For the blasphemies uttered against you, we will console you, O Lord.
For the sacrileges that profane your sacrament of love, we will console you, O Lord.
For the outrages against your divinity, we will console you, O Lord.
For the injuries of which you are the adorable victim, we will console you, O Lord.
For the coldness of the greater part of your children, we will console you, O Lord.
For the contempt of your loving invitation, we will console you, O Lord.
For the infidelity of those who called themselves your friends, we will console you, O Lord.
For the abuse of your grace, we will console you, O Lord.
For our own unfaithfulness, we will console you, O Lord.
For the incomprehensible hardness of our hearts, we will console you, O Lord.
For our long delay in loving you, we will console you, O Lord.
For our tepidity in your holy service, we will console you, O Lord.
For your bitter sadness at the loss of souls, we will console you, O Lord.
For your long waiting at the door of our hearts, we will console you, O Lord.
For the heartless scorn that grieves you, we will console you, O Lord.
For your loving sighs, we will console you, O Lord.
For your loving tears, we will console you, O Lord.
For your loving imprisonment, we will console you, O Lord.
For your loving death, we will console you, O Lord.

Let us pray: O Jesus!  divine savior, from whose heart comes forth this bitter complaint, "I looked for one that would comfort me, and I found none," graciously accept the feeble consolation we offer you, and aid us so powerfully by your grace, that we may, for the time to come, shun more and more all that can displease you, and prove ourselves in everything, and everywhere, and forever your most faithful and devoted servants.  We ask it through your sacred heart, O Lord, who live and reign with the father and the Holy Spirit one God, world without end.

 Amen.

Act of Adoration #3

Act of Adoration #3

Jesus, my God, I adore You, here present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar, where You wait day and night to be our comfort while we await Your unveiled presence in heaven.

Jesus, my God, I adore You in all places where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved and where sins are committed against this Sacrament of Love.

Jesus, my God, I adore You for all time, past, present and future, for every soul that ever was, is or shall be created.

Jesus, my God, who for us has endured hunger and cold, labour and fatigue, I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who for my sake has deigned to subject Yourself to the humiliation of temptation, to the perfidy and defection of friends, to the scorn of Your enemies, I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who for us has endured the buffeting of Your passion, the scourging, the crowning with thorns, the heavy weight of the cross, I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who, for my salvation and that of all mankind, was cruelly nailed to the cross and hung there for three long hours in bitter agony, I adore You.

Jesus, My God, who for love of us did institute this Blessed Sacrament and offer Yourself daily for the sins of men, I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who in Holy Communion became the food of my soul, I adore You.

Jesus, for You I live. Jesus, for You I die. Jesus, I am Yours in life and death.

Amen.
